Domaine 'Clos des Rochers'
Belonging to the Clasen family, the 18 hectares of vines on the Domaine 'Clos des Rochers' are spread around the best slopes in the communes of Grevenmacher and Wormeldange and in the locality of Ahn.It is planted exclusively with noble grape varieties, including Auxerrois, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Riesling, for which low yield targets are set.
The grapes are harvested entirely by hand, enabling the best to be selectively picked at the most favourable moment maturity-wise. The wines are vinified, matured and bottled in a small cellar on the banks of the Moselle at Grevenmacher.
The Domaine 'Clos des Rochers' is a founder-member of the 'Domaine et Tradition' association.
Its wines are sold mainly in Luxembourg, but can easily be exported to France, Belgium, Germany and England on request.
One particular wine from this estate, the Pinot Blanc, 'Domaine et Tradition' 2002, was voted 'Best Dry White Wine in Europe' at the 'Mundus Vini' competition in 2003.
The annual output of the estate is around 50,000 bottles.
