THE PRODUCER

The creation of the Blain-Gagnard estate took place in 1980 following the marriage of Jean-Marc, originally from the Sancerre region, and Claudine, originally from Chassagne where they have been winemakers for several generations. The estate's surface area of 8.30 ha includes young vines and old vines to obtain a better balance of the wine. The vines are planted with Chardonnay (55%) and the rest with Pinot Noir. The vinification is traditional with an ageing in oak barrels following a proportion of 15 to 30% of new barrels and with bâtonnage for the white wines. The bottling is done after 11 months of ageing for the white wines and after 15 to 17 months for the red wines.
