Our history
Jean Bernard-Massard's experience as a cellar-master in the Champagne region led the wine expert to establish a cellar on the banks of the Moselle in 1921. The soil quality of the hills along the river, their orientation and the temperate climate they enjoy, seemed to him to meet all the right quality criteria for producing fine wines. Initially, the company concentrated purely on producing effervescent wines using the 'Champagne method'. But thanks to its situation in the Moselle region and the character of its first chairman, Bernard Clasen, it soon began to diversify its products and also started selling Luxembourg white wines.

The opportunities afforded by the free-trade area created by the Belgium-Luxembourg Economic Union facilitated the company's international orientation right from the start.
